The 8^th of October 2011 is another important date to be marked in CARS long running history. This date is to be remembered as the day that the first ever D-Star Repeater system, 5B4CY, has gone on air from Cyprus. The D-Star Repeater has kindly been donated to CARS by the Ham Association of Greece (HAG).

This has only been made possible following the efforts and perseverance of SV1EDZ (Demetris) on behalf of HAG, and the CARS Repeater manager 5B4SD (Giorgos) on behalf of CARS. A lot of hard work has also been carried out by the CARS President 5B4ZN (Philip), the CARS Secretary 5B4AHZ (Nestoras), and members 5B4SN, 5B8AP, and 5B4AIR.
