 CARS invites all members to the 2013 AGM to be held on Sunday, 19 May 2013, at 10:00am, at the Famagusta Nautical Club in Limassol. (map)
Members wishing to run for election to the Central Committee, are asked to send their nominations by Friday the latest.
An amateur radio lunch will follow the AGM. Those members wishing to stay for the lunch after the AGM please notify the CARS Secretary, Nestor 5B4AHZ (tel. 99610855, email ) of your intention to do so latest by the Thursday before the meeting.

The third weekend of October is traditionally allocated for the annual Scouts JOTA (Jamboree on the Air) event. Many scouts around the world communicate between themselves through the use of the Amateur Radio frequencies, whether o HF, VHF, Echolink, and other digital modes.
During the weekend of 20-21 October 2012, the 273rd AirScout group took part in the 2012 JOTA event and had been active on both HF and VHF, completing approximately 50 QSO's on VHF and 30 QSO's on HF. Moreover, 5 QSO's were carried out through Echolink, using the callsign 5B4NSE/J.
The station was being manned by Vassilis 5B4AKN, Effie 5B4AJE, Nestoras 5B4AHZ, and the newly licenced George 5B4AKF. Many thanks to all for their invaluable help!!

It is with great sadness that the Cyprus amateur radio community mourns the passing of Doros Kyriakou, 5B4EA. He was a great friend to many and an active radio amateur always present at all club events. Doros passed away today, after a long bout with kidney disease. He will be missed.

Visited the Paphos Scouts Group located in Yeroskipou on Sunday .Event was a Jota weekend, 20th/21st Oct.2012. Marios and Lefteris(5B4AGL) were in attendance, and some eager and willing Scouts...Station call 5B4PSG.
