Once you successfully pass the examination, the above Dept. shall supply you with an Amateur Radio icon Amateur Radio License application form (62.5 kB) with which you will apply for your license.

Send your application to:

Ministry of Communications & Works,
Dept of Electronic Communications,
PO Box 24647,
1302 Nicosia.

The office is now at 286 Strovolou Avenue. (Near Metro Supermarket).

Send also

  • A copy of your birth certificate
  • €51.26 for the application/callsign
  • A further €25.63 per year (or pro rata) to operate
  • Your Amateur Radio Operator Certificate OR your examination pass slip, OR a copy of your foreign (CEPT only) licence OR HAREC certificate.


There is no longer a morse code requirement for a licence.

A Certificate of Good Conduct from your local Cyprus police is no longer required!

Before the documents are sent you are advised to telephone the Ministry to be told the exact amount you should make your cheque out for. Cheques should be made payable to "The Director of the Dept of Electronic Communications".

Also a few days after sending the application, if you haven't heard anything, it is recommended that you telephone again to check all is in order. (The Ministry works 7.45-14.30 on weekdays only, and Wednesday afternoon 15:00-17:30.)
