May I remind all those who have still not sent their membership
fees for 2010, that they should do so as soon as possible. Payment instructions
can be found on this page below, with the heading Membership. Would all
those that opt to send their payment through ebank transfer not forget to inform
the CARS Treasurer, Pantelis 5B4CF, otherwise it is impossible for us to know
who sent the payment.
Finally, I would like to inform you that our Society has once again successfully
argued towards the Cyprus Standards Organisation the reasons why our stance
should be supported 100% towards the International Electrotechnical Commission
as far as the standard for the control of Power Line Communication systems. It's
worth noting that we once again had to face the Cyprus Electricity Authority as
the opposite side of the table.
The Dept of Electronic Communications of the Ministry of Communications and
Works has announced that the next examination for a Radio Amateur Licence will
take place in September 2010, please see
Callsigns & Licences page.
