P3R/p , Field Day Contest, 1st/2nd September 2012, QTH : Akamas  nr Agios Geogios, Operators, Baz 5B4AHO, Richard 5B4AJG and Noz 5B4AIX, Just a fun entry, made about 250 contacts(51,000 pTS).

A busy weekend , with WAA contest also on as well...an enjoyable experience

Equipment , Alinco DX70TH, H/B 6m Delta loop, MFJ auto tuner, 40a PSU, 2.5KW generator...and most important was the gazebo and of course the Beer...Thanks to those who came to visit...

PRC to enter DARC Field Day PDF Print Email

From the President of PRC  Noz 5B4AIX

Subject to an on site meeting , it was decided that Pafos Radio Club will take part in the DARC IARU REGION 1 SSB Field Day event, September 1st&2nd  2012.

Operating QTH : Due to lack of help and operators, we will now operate from The Portable Play Day area Akamas Penn. nr Searays Bar..On coast road turn right by Sunset View Tavern , follow road for about 1km, pass the Banana plantations, SeaRays Bar is on the right, contest site will be on the left look for Antenna

Operators : Richard, Baz n Noz

SET UP TIMES :  Saturday: 1500hrs local time, Sunday 0700 hrs local time.

OPERATING TIMES : Saturday: 1600 - 1900 local time, Sunday 0700-1600 local time.

CLUB EQUIPMENT : Alinco dx70th, Comet H422, Wintest logging program.

IMPORTANT!  DO bring any drinks/food that you may need, or purchase from the Restaurant. Refreshments will not be provided by PRC.

Suggestion: Bring a chair and a hat/parasol.

Depending on numbers, we may have to have a roster for operating. Please do not feel that you HAVE to operate,  logging /set up/support etc all helps.

PRC in DARC Field Day PDF Print Email

Pafos Radio Club made a low-key entry into the DARC Field Day on the first weekend of September.

This was quite a laid-back affair, and was intended as an opportunity for less experienced operators to get some contesting experience, and for everyone to have some fun.

5B4PRC/P was QRV from 4.00pm to 7.00pm local time on the Saturday, and from 7.00am to 3.30pm on the Sunday.

Operators were 5B4AGT, 5B4AHJ, 5B4AHO, 5B4AIB, 5B4AIN, 5B4AIX, 5B4AJG & 5B4AJT.

5B4PRC/P made 214 QSOs from a QTH on public land close to the Yialos Taverna, north of Coral Bay. The station comprised PRC's IC745 powered by PRC's recently purchased generator, and a Force 12 Sigma 5 vertical antenna.

P3R in IOTA 2012 PDF Print Email

Baz 5B4AHO, Richard 5B4AJG & Noz 5B4AIX had some fun in RSGB IOTA Contest 28th/29th July 2012, using the Paphos Radio Club (5B4PRC) contest callsign P3R, from the station of  Baz 5B4AHO. Noz, 5B4AIX says "This was an enjoyable 24 hrs, and a good learning experience in contesting. Many thanks to Baz and Val for their hospitality".
