Books and Reference Material

The are a number of books and websites that can be used in preparing for the HAM Radio examinations. The main sources include the RSGB and the ARRL online shops.

Additionally, the South African Radio League has prepared a very

concise study guide, the  SARL Radio Amateur Examination Study Guide (1.32 MB). More information regarding this manual, etc can also be found directly on their website.

Additionally, one can also refer to the radioelectronicschool.net website.

For study material in the Greek language one can refer to the Radio Amateur Association of Greece website.

Laws and Regulations

Part of the examination material are also the laws and regulations governing Amateur Radio. You are advised to study these as well.

1. The Course 02b Notes - 5B Licence conditions and laws (242 kB) with the operating conditions. Note. An unofficial translation into English is included.(Thanks to Ivan G1LPW for most of the translation).
2. The Radio Communications Law and all it's amendments available from the relevant Dept. of Electronic Communication website (both in Greek and English). Of course one would only need to study to the sections of the law covering the Radio Amateur Service!!
