CARS is a representative democracy, just like the Cyprus Government — its members control its policies. CARS members are the ultimate authority, and collectively have the ultimate responsibility for the work and direction of the organization.
The Society’s Constitution gives direct responsibility to set CARS policy to an elected Central Committee. Seven central committee members are elected on a national basis, and four on a regional basis, one per CARS Division, to serve one year terms. Committee members receive no monetary compensation for their service, although they are eligible to be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses incurred in the performance of their duties. CARS Working Group Coordinators are chosen by the Central Committee.
Each Regional Club has a Regional Committee, elected by CARS members in each Region. Regional committee members are also elected to one year terms. In turn, each Regional Committee has a number of active and enthusiastic radio amateurs to help conduct Regional business.
